FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE 1955

Julie’s parents, Bill and Shirley Traylor, bought the “Flying Saucer” from her grandparents, Al and Ethel Ramsdell, in 1955. At that time it was a drive-up hamburger stand. Julie’s dad was the cook and her mom was the waitress! They lived in a small trailer right out in the parking lot. Bill and Shirley gradually added on and created “Traylors Flying Saucer” eventually dropping the Flying Saucer title. Julie and her husband Bob bought Traylors in 1998 from her parents. Bill passed in 2001 and Shirley passed 2019.

“Being third generation, I am emotionally invested in the business and it is a part of me! We treat our employees like family and many have been with me for years. Our fish and chips have always been our best-seller, and still is to this day. We take pride in not changing the recipes of our homemade chowders, soups, salad dressings, and coleslaw, which have been passed down for 3 generations. We have been serving the Olympic Peninsula for over 65 years and look forward to many more!”
